Clinical Services
Individual Therapy
Within my private practice I offer individual therapy to adolescents and young adults, and adults. I treat a wide range of presenting problems but specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, and co-occurring medical/mental health issues. I tailor my approach to each individual, but most frequently use Acceptance + Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Depending on the patient’s needs, I may also utilize in interpersonal therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and/or clinical hypnosis.
Parent Coaching
I enjoy working with parents who are seeking to identify and implement more effective parenting strategies and improve their relationships with their child/children. When working with parents I often use an integrative approach informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), with aspects of Parent Child Interaction Therapy, Parent Management Training, and Family Systems. I approach parent work with the belief that parents and children both tend to use strategies that have been modeled and likely have worked in the past, but that as people (children and their parents and environments) change, new approaches are needed.
Psychogastroenterology Consultation
Within my private practice I offer one-time psychogastroenterology evaluations for patients experiencing gastrointestinal symptoms who are looking for an understanding of the biopsychosocial factors of their symptoms and want to identify evidence-based psychological treatment recommendations. Patients requesting an evaluation must be under the care of a gastroenterologist and have completed whatever preliminary workup is recommended by their treating gastroenterologist (e.g. bloodwork, any recommended stool studies, any recommended EGD, colonoscopy, etc.). Please note that I am not not always able to provide ongoing treatment following individual consultations,
Trainings & Consultation
As a pediatric psychologist I have a specialty in psychological and behavioral interventions for pain and GI disorders including irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), functional abdominal pain, functional dyspepsia, feeding disorders, elimination disorders, and Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). I am available to provide consultation to clinicians looking to strengthen their work with patients experiencing these concerns.
In addition to my consultation work, I also frequently lead workshops for community- or hospital-based clinicians focused on psychological interventions for chronic symptoms, with a focus on psychogastroenterology and/or chronic pain,
